Solved: CD of photos will not open at photo machine
I created a CD of photos with Adaptec CD writer. The photos, though JPeg, will not open at a photo machine such as those at Walgreens, Walmart, etc. Any ideas? The reason I prefer to open from the CD and not the camera's memory card is that I do a lot of editing and prefer to print my edited images.
I usually use a photo service online so that I can upload images I've edited and have them printed, but I'd just like to be able to use the CD if ever I choose to.
Thanks.

Are you creating them using packet writing on a CD-RW disk? Or are you not closing the session after burning? Either of these can cause problems with the kiosks.

I haven’t used a kiosk so this might not apply. If you just recorded a folder full of images and the folder is in the root directory rather than the individual files some applications can’t find the images.

If you recorded with the built-in XP mastering software it by default closes the session. I’ve never had any CD drive not read a CD with the session closed, but again I’ve never used a kiosk.

As DoubleHelix points out there is often problems if you used packet writing. If you formatted the CD you used packet writing.
