Decreasing pic size
Every time I try to resize my pics they get all blurry and don't shrink in size. I'm using Irfanview to try to resize my pics. Anyone know how?

can you describe the steps you actually take - and what you are viewing it on.
if you resize the picture small and then look at it full screen so above 100% it can look bad depending on yoyr screen resolution.

I figured it out. I was using Irfanview and had changed from XP to 2000. I just downloaded the 2000 version and now it works.

One last thought, try to crop the picture as much as possible before the resize. The less information lost from the picture, as when resizing, the better and sharper the pic.

You should know what is happening for future reference in case you get your view settings changed again. You had Irfanview set to fit the picture to the window. When you installed the old version you reverted to the default setting, which I believe is to fit the window to the picture.

You were actually downsizing the picture. But Irfanview was guessing at extra pixels to blow the image back up to fill the window. Hence the appearance of blur. Had you gone View>Display Options and chosen either “Fit window to images” or “Do not fit anything” you would have seen the picture at the size you resized it to.
