Red face Film Scanner Software
I just reinstalled my Acer 2720S film scanner with MiraPhoto. I'm looking for other software to use instead of or with MiraPhoto. I have Photoshop 5LE and Jasc Paint Shop. Any suggestions please.

THE GIMP http://www.dpforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2129
and
Paintshoppro 7 http://www.dpforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1390 but you already have PSP

to get any better than that you will need photoshop

Photoshop 5LE is a good product - i started with that version

what is it that PS5LE and PSP wont do for you

Nothing wrong with PS5LE, I'm retired/retarded and bored. I just thought there might be something newer/better than the last time I scaned slides in 2000.

well PS5LE was replaced by elements 2 and now by elements3
also Photoshop5 has now gone to PS6, PS7, PSCS and current version is PSCS2
but photoshop is 100's of pounds and Elements3 is pretty good for photographers, however, if PS5LE did everything you wanted - i would stay with it and save your money

etaf: I did add Curves-Channel Mixer-Layer Mask-Selective Color plugins from EarthBound. They work perfectly. This really inproves Elements 3.01. Thanks
