I have tried your suggestion but it idn't fix the problem. I do have a scanner and it doesn't work either. I think I may have messed something up a while back. When I cut my computer on it doesn't go straight to my desk top, it goes to a black screen that says" cannot find a devise file that may be needed to run windows or a windows application. Then it says to press any key to continue, then it says the windows registry or system ini file refers to this device but the device file no longer exists, press any key to continue. After that it goes to my desktop. I went into dos and had it run something that said it had successfully fixed registry, but I still get the black screen at start up. It has been like this for awhile, this may be the problem. I went into find and there is all kind of twain files, I also down loaded the file you suggested. I may have it to messed up for help. Thanks
