Vertical Type Spacing In Photoshop CS2
I am struggling with Type. It seems overcomplicated to me but im sure its not. I have two main problems. Once i have written some vertical type how do i alter the spacing between the letters? The Leading doesnt seem to do anything. Also when i have typed something and its laid down and i have moved away to another layer, can i then return to the type and somehow select it and change its colour, size, allingment etc? Thanks, Richard.

You need to either select the layer text (with the Type tool, so that it is highlighted) and then adjust the settings here ...

Yeah thats what i assumed but it doesnt seem to work for me

The leading changes affect Horizontal type but not vertical. Maybe i'm just doing something fundamentally wrong, i'm a Photoshop N00B

Both (or however many) lines of type in the layer need to be selected (highlighted) to alter the leading for those lines.

I'm either being really dense or i've explained myself wretchedly. The areas of space i want to control are illustated below... maybe its just not possible...

Perfectly clear now ...
The vertical spacing of a horizontal text , in a vertical alignment, becomes the Horizontal spacing ....
Right

I had to insert an extra space after the p in the vertical alignment to seperate the descender.

It runs OK on my 512mb Laptop, but I don't push it with other apps while using PS.

My two other Desktops have 1gb.
My newest one is a P4 640 HT Media Center and I push it all the way ... with dual monitors.
Even watch TV while playing w PS and other apps.
