On USB devices the best procedure is to install the device drivers first and then plug the device into the computer. So put the cd in and install the software and drivers and then connect your camera and see what happens.

Check your Camera settings. One of my cameras must be set to operate in either Camera mode or operate as a usb Disc Drive.

Does the camera show as a removeable drive in Windows Explorer?

It turns out, something is wrong with my USB port. It worked when I used my brother's laptop. Anyone know how to fix this?
