Digital Video camcorder
I have a digital video camcorder from Panasonic model PV-GS9. This model does not come with any software.

I have a recording that I want to trabsfer to my PC. I have the correct cable to connect the camera to the PC usb port, I have installed the correct usb driver from the panasonic website and I have winXP and was planning to use windows movie maker. I have very little editing to do, it smore a need to get the video onto the PC that I am having difficulty doing.

When I connect the camera the o/s sees the connection as indicated by the remove h/w safely icon in the system tray that appears. However when I start the windows movie maker it does not seem to be able to retrieve the video footage. The manual that came with the camera seems useless as it only talks about how to do it with the panasonic s/w....the same s/w that does not come with the camera.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx..D.

The camera should be in the VTR mode----Go to file---Capture------If the automatic capture doesnt work, try starting your camera manually.
