Solved: Please help with one aspect of Irfanview
I have a new computer and so I downloaded Irfanview, which I had been using on my old computer. On the old computer I was able to just right click a photo and resize it, but now on my new computer I am missing that option. How do I get it? Thanks!

On the old computer were you able to do this using Irfanview?

What operating system do the computers use?

I had XP on the old computer and now have XP Media Center edition.
I do see how to resize the photo using Irfanview by opening the program, but the right click option was so slick and easy!

I have not seen that option with Irfanview. Maybe you had one of Microsoft's Power toys installed. It's called Image Resizer and can be downloaded here: XP Power Toys.

Thanks very much! I looked over the Power Toys and many sound great! I didn't know about these cool downloadables. The one that resizes photos sounds like just what I need. Maybe it wasn't Irfanview that gave me that feature.
I appreciate your help!

I agree with moper... Irfanview does not have that option... that's kind of why I asked if you did the resizing on the old computer with Irfanview

The Microsoft tool is quick and easy.
But, quoted from Slipe, a knowlegable member of this forum:

Quote:
The Windows resizer is a normal resize where Irfanview is defaulted to the Lanczos filter which does a better job. You wouldn’t see much difference with a downsize but you wouldn’t want to upsample with the Windows resizer.
.

Depends what you need it for.
