Solved: Adobe Photo Deluxe Version 2
Hi all

I have an old copy of Adobe Photo Deluxe that came with my scanner, back when I was still using Win98. When I upgraded to XP the scanner wouldn't work anymore, but I kept the Photo deluxe software because it was good at what it did. Not long ago I upgraded my computer with a new motherboard and more RAM, Think I've got 1GB of RAM now. However, since I did that, I can't get Photo Deluxe to start. I keep getting an error message saying that there isn't enought RAM available to start the program!!! Which I know isn't true.

Can anyone help me on this coz I can't afford to upgrade the program at the moment, and I've got a heap of work to do that I need it for.

Thanks in advance
Sharlow

As far as I am aware only versions later than that are compatable with XP, but seriously there are free image editors available that are equal to (or much better than) PhotoDeluxe.

I have V 4.0 running OK on XP, but never use it.
Try Picasa (free from Google) or Irfanview (also free from www.irfanview.com).

If you use the search tool on this forum you should find a link for a free version of PSP 7.0, which is much more powerful than PhotoDeluxe 2.0 (which was intended for Windows 95 btw)

Thanks for the information on the other programs. The only reason I'm still using this is coz I got it for free ages ago when I brought my scanner, and I can't afford to upgrade it. That being said, the problem has been solved. All I needed to do was increase my virtual memory enough to overcome the insufficient ram problems. Thank you for your help
