Hi ,
What is the difference between an ELPH camera and a digital camera??
If any .. What does ELPH mean?

It's just a consumer line from Canon, no different than a regular camera. If you wanted to put it into an anology it would be like saying Ford's compact cars. A type of car but still a car.

DIGITAL IXUS : For Europe and other areas outside of the US, Canada, Taiwan and Japan.
DIGITAL ELPH : For North America, Canada, and Taiwan
IXY DIGITAL : For Japan

The original ELPH's and IXUS's were APS cameras and not digital.
