Solved: Vector Image Problem
I am trying ( for the first time ) to make a vector image. I start by opening my image. I then create a blank second layer. On that layer I trace the skin ( using the pen tool ) then close the path. I right click and fill the path with the skin color I want. I then move on to the clothing. I first create a new layer for the clothing, then trace that too. The problem is that when I try to fill this with the color of the shirt, it also colors my previous "body" path. The body selection is on an entirely different layer, so I don't understand why it's doing this.

are you locking the previous layers ? if the third layer, your clothing layer is in close proximity to your skin layer, your right click might be selecting both paths. try locking the first and second layers , the use the direct selection tool to select the clothing path and apply your stroke and fill. as well, make sure you havent grouped anything on accident.

Yeah, I'm an idiot. I was coloring a new layer with the old layer still selected! I knew it was going to be something obvious that messed it up! Thank you for the help
