Talking Startup Menu pic prob
I had this in the XP forum as that's the puter I have and got no responses so I'm trying in here.

I want to play a joke on my hubby. I found an edited pic that someone had made that says, "Virus Download
Executing: CPUdeath.vir from hackx.3w's.undrwrld.com
Estimated time left: Unknown."

I want this pic to show up when he boots up his puter , but all I can manage to do is make it show up in Paint. Well, that kinda defeats the purpose, you know? LOL

How can I make this show up as a pop up? I tried making it into an icon, but that didn't work either

Any ideas??

Thanks,
GentsBabe

Create a web page with the image as a background. Put the html document in his startup folder.

Take a screenshot of his desktop, hit the prt scr button on the keyboard. Paste it in a new paint document or other image editor. Add what ever mesage you want. Save the image and make it his wallpaper.

You can also remove all the icons on his desktop, place them in folder so he can get them back... and move them to another folder somewhere... To even make it worse.... If his start bar is not set to auto hide you can set it to auto hide... Basically no icons will work, start bar won't work...nothing will beacuse it's just the wallpaper.

I can't make it as his desktop as it's a .gif file and then it won't work. It's here: http://www.geocities.com/gentsbabe2/Virus.gif if you want to check it out.

I may just mess with all his desktop icon's for more effect tho... thanks for the idea! And I thought *I* was bad! lmao

I've uploaded it to my website and I'm going to try Rockn's suggestion. I REALLY hope this works, I just wanna see the look on his face!! LMAO

It will still work but to get the proper effect you would have to create a gif file using his desktop as the background in a gif animation program..that may not work as well since gif only supports 256 colors.... BTW you can set the html doc as the wallpaper too... complete with working links...

Oh boy the evil things I can think of using a combination of HTML and that .gif

There are things here also at this site.

http://www.rjlsoftware.com/software/entertainment/

Just read up on each of them and read how to turn off the effects.
There are some you can not stop but will have to wait for them to finish what it is doing on it's own.
I have tried all these on 98SE and most on 95a and all has worked ok for me.
Also all you have to do is run the programs because no install is needed.
