I have a new Canon S3 IS digital camera which takes SD memory cards. The card that came with it is only 16 mb. I find, on the Internet, some good prices in 1 GB miniSecure Digital cards. My only concern is that the illustrations of these mini cards show a slightly different shape than that of the 16 mb. SD disk which came with the camera. These 1 GB. SD cards come with adapters. I'm not sure just how these adapters fit into the total picture. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

The mini SD is a much smaller size. The adapter will let it work in your camera but I would go with a standard sized SD card and avoid the adapter. I would also get something rated at least 40X. A “standard” speed SD card might slow your cycle times and cause the movies to drop frames.
