Question Lost Files
I am using Adobe Photoshop 3.0 with my Windows XP and keep losing or missing files. How can I locate and reconnect these jpeg files ?

I assume that you are missing these files in the Organizer.

There is a good explanation in the HELP section. From the Oganizer, click HELP, click the Index tab, click the R, third item down is Reconnect command.

Note: If you catalog a pic & then move it or change the name you must reconnect.

A copy of your pictures shoul be stored in,

"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Catalog Folders\My Catalog\Proxies"

I guess that I am getting a bit confused

Can you please explain your problem in a little more detail??

What do you mean by losing or missing? from the Organizer? the original location ?
when you edit /save ?

In Windows Explorer go Tools > Folder Options, then select the View tab. Select “Show hidden files and folders” and deselect anything about hiding folders, extensions etc. “Apply” and OK.

Since you are obviously smart enough to deduce the missing file names do a search for some WITHOUT the file extension - .jpg or .jpeg in this case. Use “all files and folders” and all storage drives.

If the computer doesn’t find the files they are no longer on your computer. If the files are very important and they just recently went missing it might be worth running recovery software. Anything that has been overwritten can’t be recovered.
