Cool picture in picture
Does anyone know how I can copy and paste a picture into another picture? A team picture was taken but 2 people came late so now they need to be added to the team picture. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks.

Tell us what image editing software you are using. Also whether you just want to put it as a separate picture within the picture or want to do fancy work and make it look as though the other two had been there in the first place.

I would guess from the title you just want to put the second picture as a separate picture. Any photo editing software with layers will allow you to do that easily by just dragging it into the original. Someone should be able to give you exact directions when you identify your editing software.

What software do you have to work with?

With the limited info you have given my guess is that it would be very dificult to make it look good/real...given the team photos I have seen

If you post the pictures in question here... I think there would be plenty of people that would take a crack at it for you

Ha! I did something very similar for an Irish writers group recently.

I was given a photo with 12 or so local writers in it and asked if I could put a few more in 'as though they were there'. I ended up putting 37 more people in! That reminds me, I haven't got paid yet!

The answer, is yes, it can be done, though it takes a little time and the appropriate software. The easiest way is to stick 'em in the back of the crowd!

I'm using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI...I have 3 separate pictures, one is a team picture, second is a team member, and third is another team member. I want to blend the 2 team members into the team picture. When I tried to merge one of the pictures with the team picture, the individual pic was bigger than the team pic and I couldn't move it out of the way. It was covering the team pic.

When you add the single members pictures as a new layer you will then need to scale it so the face and or body sizes match.

without seeing what your working on I would guess you want to extract the faces/bodys before you add them so as not to add the background as well

Okay, I changed softwares, and am now using Photoshop Elements 4.0. I created the layers but now I don't know how to add one girl into the team picture. The team picture was taken with some kneeling and some standing. I want to paste one girl standing in the back row but I don't know how to do it. I tried to go into Layer>Arrange, then chose send backward or send to back, but the layer disappears. Is there a way to paste her into the back row?

How do I stick the girls in the back row as if they were there?

Can you attach the pictures here ????

This is an easier layer manipulation … You can simply Click and Drag the layer(s) to where you want them in the layer stack.

Add the girl .. and cut out (erase) her surroundings.
Scale her to fit the picture by transforming.

There are several ways … but here’s how I like to do it … You’ll need three layers …
Layer 3 (the top one) will be the front row of players .. with most everything over their heads erased.
Layer 2 will be the girl by herself .. with her surroundings erased.
Layer 1 will be the background… an unedited layer .. the original team picture.

To make layer 3 .. make layer 1 active … and Press CTRL+J
This will copy it to a new layer … Click and Drag this new layer to layer 3.
Now .. erase most everything over the heads of the front row of players in layer 3 … where the girl will be.

Remember .. what you see is looking at the layers from the top (layer 3) down.
This 3 layer method is like cutting a slice in picture over the heads of the front row … where you want the Girl
And sliding the girl in the slice.

You can now position layer 2 … the Girl .. in this “sandwich” of layers.

Imagine the layers like a deck of cards .. face up.
Take the top card and cut off the top 2/3rds and throw it away.
Take the second card down and cut off the top 1/3rd .. and throw it away.

Now … What do you see ???

This is a lot tougher to explain .. than do … Hope I made it a little clearer.
