PICTURE IT 2000 v4.0
I'm able to scan and print a real nice sharp image using Picture It; but if I save it as a jpg. file (selecting 128K and BEST), and then open it, the image is, both, blurred on my screen, as well as when I print..

I don't understand why I can view and print a scanned item perfectly; but as soon as I save and open it; it appears blurred, both, on the screen when opening, as well as when I print the image...why?

I've performed the aforementioned with, both, automatic and manual. I also have tried focus, brightness, contrast with no luck.

I know jpg. can maintain an image...so am I doing something wrong, or is this poor programming?

128kb (if that is the filesize) is going to be a highly compressed image where most of the quality is lost.

I am not familiar with Picture It, but there are many free image editors around that would beat it I suspect.

Google provide Picassa, a free and vey good image editor/printer/viewer that would solve your problem, it is able to import from a scanner. http://picasa.google.com/
