Does the quality of a card reader affects...
...the quality of pictures that it read from a memory card and transfers it a computer?

A couple of concerns.
Earlier card readers operated at USB1 and were quite slow,USB2 readers are a lot faster.
Card readers plugged into a 4-port hub seem to work only if that hub has a seperate electrical plug (on my computer.) Card readers plugged directly into PC work fine.
In all cases the quality of the downloaded photo's is same as directly downloading from the camera.
