Unhappy HP Image Zone
I need help with my HPImage Zone. For some reason I can no longer access it. It comes up with this box ststing that "This program has encountered an unexpected error: Parameter cannot be null
Parameter name: serializationStream
We have tried everything. We run off Windows XP. We thought we had a hard drive problem but the tech said it was fine, instead we had to buy a new power surge protector, that ended up being the problem but then Image Zone went out. Help please= I store all my pictures there

It's a known issue if you have IE 7. Check HP's website for an update.

Thanks to IE7 .. Your scanner won't work using HPIZ.
But I don't think this'll apply to what you've described.
Anyway .. Did your computer get upgraded to IE 7 ???

I have HPIZ, but I refuse to use it .. so I don't know how it works.
The first thing I'd try is to get your pictures out of HPIZ and back them up somewhere.

Anyone know where HPIZ stores them and how to do this ????

They're normally stored as image files (forget if they're JPG or TIF, or other), in a directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\My Documents\My Scans\ and they are sorted by the month/year the item was scanned.

Good.
I was thinking about suggesting removing and re-installing Image Zone as a first attempt to fix Handler’s problem.
But, I’ve seen too many posts here about Image organizers like Image Zone and Kodak Easy Share loosing the pictures.

So .. The first thing I’d recommend is to copy (backup) the pictures to a DV/DVD from wherever HPIZ put them.

Handler … Do you know where they are ... and how to do this ????

Do you know that you don't need to use Image Zone.
There are other ways to access you HP scanner - if you have one.
You don't need Image Zone to download from a HP Camera - if you have one.
Windows XP can do all this.
And there are Better programs (Free) for viewing and editing your pictures.
Windows XP can't do this.
