Copy to CD not an option any more from 'File"
I just got over a very bad case of Trojan Vundo's along with a bunch of other Trojans, thanks to Cybertech

I decided to back up photos that I have on hard drive to CD's.

The Problem..When I select photos from file, then go to "file" the option of copy to CD is no longer there.

I have tried to drag the photo file to CD drive, but when I do, I get a message to put a CD in drive, But after many tries with new CD's the same thing happens.

Question, how do I get the option restored in "file" to copy to CD and how to get CD drive to recognize CD? (Drive has no problem playing CD's)

Thanks for any suggestions,
rad5030

Right-click the drive in My Computer. Does it have a Recording tab and are the options set?

I’m guessing you have XP and are using the XP recorder. I think the normal route is File > Send To > (your drive).

I would suggest you try one of the free CD writing software programs. This is the first I came across but you might do a search in the “All Other Software” forum as there have been quite a few threads discussing writing freeware. http://www.cdburnerxp.se/features.php

If other software won’t get the burner to recognize a writable CD then you might have a bad burner. The most likely problem is the XP burner. My XP writer will not recognize a writable CD in my burner – I think because it is also a DVD burner and the XP writer doesn’t burn DVDs. I had a similar problem with my last computer which did have a regular CD writer not capable of DVDs. Regardless of how I had the recording tab set it would not recognize a blank CD in the burner but Nero worked fine.
