Video edit software.
Hi everyone, I have just found this site and find it extremely useful. I am interested in doing a bit of video editing, just a bit of amature playing around realy for my own enjoyment. Can anyone tell me if there is a good simple one to use out there that I can download from the internet?

I would mainly be useing it to do 'montages'....you know where they take highlights from a football game and set it to background music. The capability to slow video down, have commentry (from the actual game) over the top would be good.

I don't know the specs of my computer but it is pretty good (pretty technical stuff I know!), it's only new and I told him I would be interested in this sort of thing so he built it accordingly. I run that bloody Windows Vista.

Thanks in advance for any help

I would like to upload video from my VCR, I assume there is a cable out there for this.

There's Windows Movie Maker.

You could try Avid, though that may be a bit advanced....

That might be too advanced for what they're trying to do.
