Solved: Scan multiple images...free downloads?
I have an "Epson 1250 - Photo" flatbed scanner. I've installed all the patches but it keeps failing when I scan to file. The scan to file option is great because i can put 2 photos on the scanner and it will recognize them as 2 seperate files.

Anyways I'm wondering if there is any free software that will allow me to scan more than one photo at a time like Epson does? I have HP imaging software also but it doesn;'t seem to like the Epson scanner as I get a "missing" file error.

looks like Irfanview is a good program, I've used it before, but didn't think it had advanced scanning options. It is perfect, it has batch scanning options where I can name and number the file and it continues the sequence...way faster than the Epson software

Curious - Irfanview uses either the Windows or Epson driver.

But you can only select from the available twain sources. That should only be the Epson driver and the much less capable WIA Windows driver. One of them is obviously capable of doing a single scan and saving to separate files if you can do it through Irfanview.

Do you have a twain source other than the WIA and Epson driver? Are you able to make a single scan of multiple items and save to separate files with the WIA driver?

I don't have a windows twain source? Only Epson, and I looked on my work laptop and I have Epson and Xerox as sources to choose.

I'm not even looking back to the Epson software (smart Panel), it just doesn't compare to the amount of time Irfanview is saving me. It saves the files and names/numbers them in sequence as soon as I scan it. The Epson Twain does a good job of automatically configuring the settings.
