Question Solved: Photoshopping
In Photoshop, I have a picture with some text on it.
I would like to change the text using the same font/colour/size etc as the original text.
Can Photoshop do this automatically somehow, or am I asking too much of it?

Thanx in advance for any help

If the text is on the picture, you can't get it out (easily). If you did get it out, you would then have to browse a font site (like http://www.dafont.com/) and find the correct font, then match the color and size.

By the way, if you want help with this, you could post the image here.

Thanx.
I don't really want to post it as it is for a viral.

I wasn't expecting it to be easy, but is it too hard to explain?

It all depends on what is behind it and how large the text is.

What is the picture basically of and where is the text? Could you crop the image to mostly the text and post it?

Copy the picture and open the copy in Photoshop (in case you mess up you still have the original).

Use the brush tool to paint white over the text.

Then I will try to tell you what font it is (Photoshop can't do it automatically)......

Ok, I will post the same pic, but with the text brushed out white later when I get home from work, so give me 8 hours or so.

White isn’t always a perfect white. Look in the color palette with the cursor over your white to make sure it is 255 in R, G & B. If it isn’t use the clone brush or sample your white with the eyedropper before painting over the text.

The closest I could come to the font was Cooper Black stretched a little with Edit > Transform > Scale. My gray is 115 in R, G & B. If you have to exactly match the shade you might take it down to 125 in all three to see how it looks.

Ferrija1 - As requested, same file, test whited out using the clone stamp.

Slipe - I think you have got it!!

I understand getting the colour right, but the actual font itself, is it just a case of manual searching font libraries and such like?

Thanx guys.

I use this: http://www.styopkin.com/details_free...ts_viewer.html

There are more sophisticated viewers that will show uninstalled fonts. If you are big into fonts like my daughter who has thousands you don’t want all of them installed. But if you just want to scroll through your installed fonts it works well.

Slipe - That Cooper black is the dogs danglies!
I sampled the colour and i see what you mean about it needing stretching.

I have to go out now so will have a look at that link you posted and stretching the font when I get back.

Cheers
