Printing pictures
I downloaded some pictures off a disk for my boss regarding a catalog she purchases items from. Now I want to print then out consecutivley in wallet size format to see which ones we want to print out in full size.

How would I do this? I just dont want to hit print, there are 808 photos.

Why don't you just load the images you want on a cd and go to Ritz/Wolf Camera or other photo shop, if you have one near you and order 5x7 index prints. The will give you 5x7 size prints with about 45 thumbnail prints on each page.

Check in your programs to see if the printer didn’t load a utility that will do that for you.

You would get more to a sheet of photo paper if you did a bulk resize (being VERY careful to not overwrite the originals) to the size you want to print and then dragging them into a new file in an image editor. I would do the bulk resize in Irfanview even if you were using a better image editor. You can have Irfanview print the file name directly on the image during the bulk resize so you can stack them closer.

If you just want to print without having to mess with dragging you can use Irfanview for the entire job. You do end up with spaces but save a lot of time.
Open an image
Hit the T key
View > uncheck Directory Tree
Options > Set thumbnail options
Try 300 X 300 pixels.
Options > Select All
File > Print selected files…….

I would select to just print one page until you get it exactly as you want. You might want to select Footer and enter $F if you want the file names on the printout. You can increase the size in the thumbnail options but you will get fewer per page. You might increase your screen resolution just for the job so you get a higher resolution with more thumbnails per page. If you do that increase the thumbnail size.

I would start with “Best to fit page” selected. Once it prints a page like you want load the printer with photo paper, set your printer options for best quality and photo paper and print all pages.

Use IrfanView, with that you can either print selected (you select them) thumbnails (you select the size to print) or you can create a "Contact sheet" from your selected thumbnails and define how many images (by how many columns and rows to make) you want on that sheet, and you define the sheet size too.

It is not too complicated to define the sizes you want and then print the sheets you want. Try it. It is free.

Picasa has a wallet size option (8 to a page) that makes this easy. Just select the photos you want, select Print, then wallet size.
If I had 808 of these puppies, I'd surely eliminate some by examining them on-screen first.
