Image Zone Fool
I have just tried to download to my Image zone so that I can look at new Pics. I have been getting a script error for 2-3 weeks but now it is telling me I can't download. I went to back up my already stored pics as a precaution and can't do that either. Has anyone experienced this problem and can someone tell me how to save my pics that are one the computer? HP told me to uninstall and reinstall but I will lose everything. Is there a place I can send them while I do this?

Thanks for helping!

When your camera is connected and turned on it probably shows as a drive. Take a photo and access it directly via the drive letter in My Computer or Windows Explorer. Say the file name of your new photo is HPC1752. You know that HPC1650 is somewhere on the computer. Start > Search > All files and folders. Put HPC1650 in the search box and it will tell you where HP is storing your photos.

Navigate to your photo folders. Highlight all the folders while holding the Ctrl key. Right click on one of the highlighted folders and select “Copy”. Go to My Documents and right click on the My Pictures folder. Select “Paste”.

Kodak stores photos in XP at C > Documents and Settings > All Users > Shared Documents > Shared Pictures > Kodak. You might look in the shared pictures folder to see if HP is putting them there. Or if you can’t deduce a photo name just do a search for HP and sort through the entries it finds.

Check the My Pictures folder to make sure everything copied over before uninstalling the HP software.

You are speaking to a novice but if they are all in My Pictures I will not lose them?
After this I am going to be the back up queen!!!
Is there a way of fixing this problem without uninstalling?

Thank you for your help!

If the pictures are in My Pictures you will not lose them with an uninstall. You can also back them up to CD, DVD or to an external drive from there. I don’t understand why you can’t back them up from wherever Image Zone stored them unless you are trying to do it through Image Zone.

If HP suggested you reinstall then I would guess it is the best solution. If HP also said you would lose your pictures I would take the trouble to find and copy them to another folder first though.
