Hi Tessa Jo

Its likely to be an indicator that warns you when the shutter speed is to slow to take the picture. Try pointing your camera at a few different subjects. See if the icon flash's when pointing at darker subjects. Then point at the same subject with the flash turned on and see if the icon stops flashing.

It could also be due to not enough light in the room. try turning a few on just to see what happens. I ran into the same problem with Canon p & s that I had. Matter of fact, my 30D does it sometimes and more light fixes it.

Did you play with the camera's settings?
Were you fooling around with the camera's settings? You may have done something that made the shutter speed very slow (either you changed the shutter speed or you closed the aperture which automatically slowed the shutter speed). Are you sure you put it back to "automatic"? I would check it out. Make sure it's on "automatic".
