A download of what precisely?
You have to purchase a new copy of Photo Elements as I suspect older versions will not work on Vista anyway...

Call them and tell them what you want to do. I know they allowed me to install photoshop on one desktop and one laptop computer.

Definitely call them.

I was running Photoshop CS2 on my XP machine, upgrading it multiple times, starting with Elements 2.0 through Photoshop CS, and did not have all the info I needed to install CS2 on my new Vista machine, so I called them and they talked me through the unlock process and the re-registration process. Works fine.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 upgrade for Vista
Thanks for all this. I have installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 from the CD. The message comes up that there is a compatibility problem, which does not surprise me. When I follow instructions I find a list of updates and I cannot identify the correct one for me. I have searched for a UK phone number for Adobe without success. Any further help?
Allan.

Elements 4.0 isn't officially supported for vista, and adobe don't supply patches for older versions of software.
If you want to make Elements that works properly on Vista, then you need to upgrade to Elements 5.

If not, this may help

Just go to the Adobe site, and follow the upgrade path for Elements.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 upgrade for Vista
Thanks for all these replies. I phoned and found out that an upgrade was available. However I considered the cost excessive since I only purchased 4 about a year ago. Could anyone recommend a good alternative programme which I could purchase at reasonable cost? My photo editing requirements are very basic. Allan
