Corrupt Image File
Hey all, about a week ago I had a problem with an image I made.
I was making some graphics, and decided to rename the file name. This resulted in me not being able to open the file with any graphics program:

The image format is .PNG, and I don't have Vista (unlike the other people reporting this problem).
Recently, I opened the file in IrfanView, which loaded about 1/4 of the image and left the rest of it black - which is some progress, I guess.
Now, atleast I can change the image format to pretty much anything (e.g. .JPEG), but it still doesn't solve anything.
Any ideas on how I can repair the image? I've tried restoring my computer to an earlier time, but to no avail.
E: Forgot to mention, I renamed it back to it's original name, and still nothing.

did you try renaming it back to it's original format and opening it with the program you used to create it?

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that.
Yea I renamed it back to it's original name (not to be confused with the format, I didn't rename the format in the first place).

hmm so you only changed the filename and not the .jpg(for example) file extention. if so, after creating and saving the image and before renaming it were you able to open and view it?
