Yet another very basic photoshop question
When I use the ellipse tool with zero fill capacity, then rasterize the layer, then try to erase part of the circle, the circle doesn't technically erase but just moves inward, if that makes sense. In other words, when I erase from the top, it goes from this first image to the second image--





Is there any way to erase objects made from these tools like they're just regular objects? I thought rasterizing would do that, but apparently not.

I hope my explanation makes sense. Sorry if it doesn't.

Use "eliptical marquee tool" to make a "selection"
then select the layer you want to erase the elipse from and use eraser tool to erase only areas within the selection (elipse shape)
Save selection as a path for later use if needed
