er... the jpeg will have to contain a date and the users login, so it won't be constant.

What? You want a program to create a picture?

Or, perhaps you meant you want a .EXE file that displays a picture, even a group of pictures? Like a slideshow?
If the latter is correct, check into IrfanView.

It can be used to create a slideshow, and you can have date info and file name info displayed at the same time.

Yeah, I need a program that will create a picture. As in generate a jpeg, containing text mostly in a box. Thing is the text will have to be the username and the date so it will always be changing.

Thanks

unfortunately, BGInfo doesn't really work for what I'm doing here, it needs to be more customizable.

BGinfo is customizeable...?

Anyways, you could probably do something with the command "NET USER %USERNAME%"

maybe a system function in C++ if you know c++

well bginfo is too big, and it doesn't really allow me to format it how I like. Just need a small box that says Prepared by: USER_NAME on DATE

I dont know if you are up for buying a program online, and I dont know the importance of this, but you can make a simple batch program using this program here-

http://www.xuebrothers.net/console/text2img.htm

You would just need to run "Net user %username%", that is if you dont log onto a network, and then pass that output to the program I linked.

It would give you a lot of info you might not need, but it is still what you want.

In which case, you probably need to be posting in the programming forum, if you're talking about creating your exe file. Shouldn't be too hard to do in Java or C++.

Basically its a way to try and stop users from copying the image right?

So you want something similar to a watermark.

I was thinking he perhaps wanted a desktop image that actually had Username and perhaps other hints (like a language) implanted on it.

(I used to do a similar "trick" when I was testing many different languages and OS's for some software I was hired to test. Having the desktop image inform me, when I was looking over half a dozen screens at the same time, helped me keep it straight.)

In that case why embed it in a program? Wouldn't it just be better to make the image (using photoshop or a script) then load it onto the desktop of the computer?

Its customizeable too >_> its not *just* limited to the preloaded setup.
