Arrow Solved: cannot save anything pictures/text, please help!
ok, so, i have searched through previous threads on this, but none of them seem to have my exact problem.
i cannot save any new pictures, or even a text file to my computer. not just jpeg, all of them. i just recently had a virus, and you guys fixed it (thank you tremendously!) so im wondering if the virus has anything to do with it.

the pictures im trying to save are my own pictures, from either my digi cam, or my phone, and before i had this virus i was able to right click and hit "save as", and save it where i wanted to and had no problems. now, what happens is, i right click, hit "save as", and find the spot i want to save it, hit save, and its done. so i go to look for the picture where i saved it, and it not there. basically it tells me its saved, but does not save.
i tried prt scr. too, but for some really odd reason i do not have "paint" on my computer anymore.
any kind of suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

howdy

what OS are you using? XP? or heaven forbid Vista?

where are you saving to?

if you right click on this image then save as to your desktop blah blah blah then look for it... will it open with the builtin windows viewer?

im useing windows xp, and my main browser is firefox. (never use IE, never heard of vista)

im usually saving to "my pictures" or "my documents" occasionally i save to "my desktop"

and, when i save stuff, like ill hit save as, save it where i want it to be saved, click on save and the little thing closes (which before when it did that it ment it was saved), but its not even there for me to open, there is no little icon, no little text that have the name of the file or picture, ive ran searches thinking maybe they saved somewhere else but i get nothing.

In Firefox go into " Tools " then " Options " . Select " Main " and look at " Save files to ". That's where your files are going so search that directory.

Eh buck I'm starting to like Vista. Still have a few issues but they are minor.

Paint should have nothing to do with this problem

Do you get an error message?

Can you post a screenshot or two when save and save as

well, i was trying to do that for you guys, but i do not have paint for some reason. and i just tried doing what Enfotoad said, and i got a message saying "cannot find"

i imagine this would be much easier if i could do a screen shot.
