Question SONY CAMERA DSC-F717 memory stick error C:13:01
There is a memory stick error C:13:01. I have tried the reset button, tried 3 other memory
sticks and none of them work. I do not have any pics on the stick but I sure would like the use of my camera.Manual says terminal may need cleaning. Does anyone know a simple way of cleaning it or any other ideas?

There are many postings on Google about exactly the same issue.

It appears to be mechanical in nature, either the contacts inside the camers memory card slot or the internal connections to the card socket.

That it happens on 3 cards suggests it is either the connection within in the socket or the socket (or its associated hardware inside the camera) itself.

The connections in the socket are fine gold plated "fingers", if any dirt problem was present, repeadedly plugging/unplugging the cards as you have been doing should have fixed it. That would tend to indicate a hardware problem further in, requiring surgery.
