Question Converting old .mix files...

I have old pics that were saved under Microsoft's MIX program I think that was program back in '99 or 2000. So now I got these pics and I am unable to open them with Adobe or any other program.

So how do I convert them or where do I go to locate a program/utility to convert that won't cost a arm and a leg (or possible to go get a free "legal" convert download). Can those files be "re"-burned using VISTA??

help!!

Don't know if there is anything to open or convert the MS Picture It or MS PhotoDraw .mix files.

File Extension .MIX Details
http://filext.com/file-extension/mix

I had Picture It 99 and it was ok but I did not like how it saved in the .mix format that I could not see in any other image program.

You can look here.

I found a rerence that said .MIX pictures can be inserted into WORD documents then SAVE AS that document as a WEB PAGE.
That will create a folder which contains the picture as a .JPG image. Copy/paste that .JPG file to your picture folder.
(locating that folder might be dificult-maybe do a search by date and look for the latest created folder.)
Hope this helps

How many MIX files are you talking about and how big is each file? I still have PhotoDraw 2000 installed on a PC a work. I may be willing to convert them for you if there aren't too many and there is an easy way to get the files to me and the converted files back to you.
File conversion options include JPEG, TIFF and PNG.

Probably the easiest method of converting your pics is to buy a copy of MS Picture It software on ebay and use it to convert. I still have about 700 MB of .mix format pics from when I owned Picture It. I gave up looking for a program to batch convert.
