Unhappy Help me select a Kodak Zoom Digital, please.
I have a broken Kodak Z740. Kodak will give me a small discount on the purchase of a new camera. I loved this model (although I don't care about the video feature). I am afraid to purchase another Z740 (it is a discontinued model but still available) because I treated the camera VERY carefully and a tiny piece of the internal USB port broke after only a year. Bad luck maybe or perhaps a new model has a better track record.
I am a novice digital user and need very specific recommendations re: which Kodak Zoom model to purchase. I don't understand the technical jargon. I use the EasyShare software so I imagine I must limit my selection to another Easyshare. I would rather not have to suffer over learning to install and use another software and I have so many pictures already on EasyShare.
I need a digital that takes wonderful pictures, has the zoom feature, is EASY to use, no video feature needed and most of all I need a sturdy camera or one that seems likely to last more than a year. I would like to spend no more than $250
Please help this brand new grandmother take pictures of her awesome grandson. Thank you.

Kodak was hoping you’d get addicted to their software and buy another Kodak.
Have you read all the posts here at TSG about the problems with the Easy Share software ??

Sure you don’t want to learn how to use your camera without being forced to use the Camera’s software ??
.. before we see you here with problems ??

Anyway ... It looks like this is the newer version your Kodak camera …

If all that is broken on the camera is the USB port you can get by with a $20 card reader. As long as you can download the pictures to your computer there is no need for the USB connection.
