Solved: ai to pdf problem
I've worked up a really nice image on illustrator cs2 and I need to save it as a pdf but when I do it only saves some of the layers.

The layers with text get saved, but most of the other layers just don't show up on the pdf.

I did create it in RGB but when I convert it to CMYK it makes no difference in the pdf.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
JTN

Are you trying to put each layer on a seperate page? I don't use Illustrator so I don't know if there's a command for that or not.

I'm pretty sure you can't save a multi layer illustration as a .pdf and have it all show up unless the image is flattened first.

If its just that you need a pdf of the image and the program is not exporting correctly I wonder if a stand alone like cute pdf http://www.cutepdf.com/ will work for you? Just the free version, not the Pro version.

It turned out to be a problem with my PDF viewer. I've been using Foxit and for some reason this particular image just didn't view well using Foxit. Using Reader it worked fine.

Foxit is fine for quick viewing text and raster images, but it doesn't support a lot of features.

I was going to suggest that you open the AI directly in Adobe Reader. Which you can do as long as 'create PDF compatible file' is checked in the save options.
