Imaging software stopped working
For over a year now I have been using a scanner (which is part of an all-in-one printer), digital camera and web cam, but last week they all stopped working. I have tried to uninstall all of them and the computer detects the hardware but it says there was an error downloading the software. My printer works, therefore I know it is not a USB problem it’s just the imaging software that doesn’t work. When I go into Device Manager the scanner, camera, and web cam have a yellow exclamation mark next to them.
Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

in the device manager, right click on the yellow warning items (scanner and what not) and go to properties, then click "roll back drivers"

Sounds like bad hardware to me.

Two thoughts occur:
Go to the manufacturer's web site and download the latest drivers. Those yellow marks suggest you haven't installed the drivers.
In Device manager, right-click each device and select "Update Driver".

have you tried to get it to work on a different computer, you need to identify that it is indeed a driver issue on your pc, there is a chance that the actually hardware is bad.

after that,
try uninstalling the software from windows safe mode, then reboot into regular mode, do not plug in the device yet, reinstall the software, then reboot and then plug in device (after fully booted)

Have you tried to run the scanner using XP's Scanner n Camera wizard ??
Programs ► Accessories ▼ Scanner n Camera Wizard.

This will checkout the USB and Scanner Twain Driver.

Unhappy it didn't work
The scanner and cameras do work with my other computer but not my primary. All of these are great suggestions but they did not work. It keeps saying "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Most, if not all manufacturers make these drivers available on their web sites. They also have troubleshooting guides available.
