Paint Shop wont save to Photo Shop Format
Hello,
Any ideas why a Paintshop Pro 9 file wont save as a psd photoshop file? I did it before and now it wont work! I click save as, enter the new extenstion .psd and then choose photoshop psd file type and click save. All looks well and then when I open the new file it is still Paint Shop Pro 9. I have converted the files sucessfully before. Any ideas? (ERG!)
Thanks~!

Did you actually choose the .psd file extension from the dropdown list first? Because if you only type it in it will still append the default file type to the end of the filename such as;

photo.psd.pspimage

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. Unless I am completely loosing my mind I did choose the file type from the drop down as Photoshop psd. first and then still typed .psd to the end of the file name. But I will try it agian tonight and let you know. THANK YOU!

Its no problem, you very well may be doing everything spot on but my mind needs to know that step was handled correctly before moving on to other possibilities if that's not it.

Don't bother typing in the extension when you save. Just choose Save As.... then choose the Photoshop (.psd) file format from the dropdown, and then type just the filename without extension and click save. And just for an extra check, give it a really wacky filename that you wouldn't otherwise use in a million years so you are sure when you go to open it up again its absolutely impossible to be similar to any other filename, especially another pspimage filename.
