Web Cam advice Pse...
Hi All
I've had a Philips Vista Pro 690 web Cam for a number of years. It finally gave up the Ghost last year. Philips no longer makes it. It had an OCR capability of while setting at its angle, it would still scan a doc lying flat on the table and it would come out perfect as if scanned with a scanner. I never did use that option much. But its ability to do close up's was amazing, and with very high resolution. I could take a 1/2" away close up of Washingtons eye ball on a dollar bill, and could actually break it up into individual pixels.

I am looking for any kind or brand of Web Cam that is capable of the same kind of close up work. I haven't tried any other Web Cams, so am not sure if they will preform as well. I Don't want to go much more expensive than $100 or so. Can anyone recommend any of the Cams on the market that will give that kind of Res for close up work?? I'm not sure why Philips stopped production of it. It was just Super, and any reviews I read of were just great.

Anyone have any recommendations?? It would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks.. All

Creative and Logitech are the best brands, I think.

Thanks Nesj...
I will look at them. I sure don't know why Philips discontinued that little 690 Pro. I'm and Amateur Astronomer, and a lot of fellas were purchaseing them to convert to astro cameras for photographing. I was going to convert it myself, but when I found the great close up's it woud take, I didn't want to modify it, so I just used it as a Web Cam. I don' understand why some other Co didn't pick up on it with its OCR capability.
Thanks Again..
