Fujifilm FinePix S5200 higher resolution
I have a Fujifilm FinePix S5200 camera and since I am digital camera user challenged I need to know how to increase the resolution over the Auto setting. The pics I want to make will take higher resolution but I'm in a dither as to how to do this. The manual is not very clear to me.

Thanks!

Hi, the Auto you talk of is not related to resolution but to exposure.

To change the resolution to that cameras highest setting.....

You will need to press the menu button, navigate to picture size/quality and set it on 5M F

Thanks for the quick response. I went to Menu and scrolled through everything and did not find "picture size/quality". Could it be called something else or am I missing something?

There are two seperate menus (actually more maybe), one for settings in the "camera" position and one for settings in the "display" mode so if you didn't find it in one then look in the other.

Also, on our FinePix there is a seperate button with just a fancy F on it and that's the button we use to set the ISO and shooting mode and maybe the picture quality as well (I never remember, I just hunt around until I find it) so if you have such a button, try that as well.

I found the F menu and ISO. Under Auto I move to the right. Is the higher the number the higher the resolution?

There should settings like:

5M F
5M N
3:2
etc

So yes the highest 5M is the highest, the F or N denotes compression, the N setting squishes the file more so you can fit more on the memory card. F gives the least squishing (compression) and therefore the highest quality.
