Solved: Working With Copying Pictures?
Guys,

I don't know if I am doing something wrong or what. I do a lot of picture copying and I have the Windows Media and Fax View as well as the Jasc Photo Shop Starter Edition. Up until a few days ago, when I would save a picture to the My Pictures Folder, specifically to the Folder that I created, "Friends Pictures" it would also save in the My Pictures Folder on the Start Menu. Now, for some reason I have to choose between one or the other when I do a Save As. The files paths are:

My Pictures in Start Menu:

C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\Start Menu\My Pictures

My Pictures in My Documents: (Note that I go to the My Documents Folder on the Desktop.)

That path is:

C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\My Documents\My Pictures

It's as if the My Documents folder and the Start Menu Containing My Pictures are now mutually different. I now have to copy one picture manually to one folder or the other. Is there a way that I can have My Pictures saved to both folders at once like I used to be able to do? It's not a big deal, I was just wondering why that is?

The MyName>Start Menu>Pictures is only supposed to act like a shortcut folder that contains the reference to the actual pictures in MyName>My Documents>My Pictures so when it was working correctly for you there was only one copy of the photo but it was like there was two arrows pointing to the same place (the actual location and the shortcut to the actual location).

It seems that Start Menu>Pictures has become corrupted in some way and is no longer pointing to the correct folder. You should not be actually copying any pictures to that folder unless you remember where you have them and make sure to include that folder in any backup that might otherwise exclude that folder unless they are pure copies and you still maintain all photos in the My Pictures folder.

Thank you! I will save to the conventional My Documents Folder, containing My Pictures, instead of the Start Menu folder from now on.

Problem may have been solved with a System Restore Go Back. Thanks again.
