Red face Uploads every picture 2x's
OK, I got a question. How come each time I upload photos onto my Vista laptop it upload each photo twice and not just one copy of each photo. What I'm trying to explain is instead of uploading one copy off my digital camera's SD memory card it uploads Two copies and I end up ALWAYS having to delete the doubles out. Is there a reason why it's uploading two copies and how can I change it to just upload one set only ??

I guess the first question is what are you using to copy the pictures onto your computer?
I know my nikon came with software which transferred files from my camera. At one stage I had ACDSEE which also had some software which detected the camera and uploaded the pictures (which I did not initially realise was happening). The result was I had two copies of the same pic in two different locations. Anyway I uninstalled both programmes and started using the sd card like you would a flash drive (same thing really) and uninstalled the nikon software and ACDSEE. Since then, no double copies.

So after all that, I think we could help you more, if we knew how you were uploading the pics.

I have recently been playing around and have created a website for my students. If you have a little time I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a look and let me know what you think and give me some ideas.

I'm not using any software to upload my pics at all. I just put my SD card into my Memory card slots conveniently provided on my laptop and it uploads itself onto the desktop. But it uploads double copies and if you went somewhere special and took over 40 pics you can imagine how confusing and annoying it is to find out which pics were doubles and which arent. I've accidentally deleted pics that werent a double thinking it was a double. Some were the BEST shots of memories I can go back and reshoot.

I assume it generates a different file name ....

image - 001.jpg
image - 001(1).jpg or similar?

When you connect your card, what window opens?

That has glitches and limitations, not to mention it's annoying/frustrating.

Use Picasa
