I have windows vista and at first my computer would let me save .gif files but now it wont let me save them. i am positive they are not flash or javascript. i can view them correctly but when i go to save them they save as a regular .bmp or jpeg image with no animation and all of my cache and insternet files are deleted from my computer so that cant be the problem. Help PLEASE!

Try emptying the temp internet files, or the cache of the browser you use. Running CacheSentry may help.

I'm going to assume your using Internet Explorer ...
So .. Right click on Wilsons Avatar (or mine) and choose to Email it to yourself.

I'm going to assume you haven't replaced Windows Photo Gallery ... with something that works ..
So .. Right click on the animated Avatar (when you get it) and choose to open it in Internet Explorer.

Mailing is a different story. Compuserve and AOL will strip mail of gif's because they believe that they own the format. Many mail programs will not transfer or receive gif's.

You're either not getting the original animated gif .. or you can't view it.
Having TSG email it to you is probably the best way to make sure you get the original uploads.

Are you trying to view them in Windows Photo Gallery ??

Can you attach a gif, or two here .. then we can see if it should be animated.
