Corel Photo House 5 and Vista
I've had Corel Photo House 5 for years, and am perfectly happy with it. It came as a freebie with my Lexmark printer, and has seen me through 2 computers, and several upgrades of operating systems since ca 2000 A.D.

So I'm quite distressed to find it won't work on my new laptop with MS Vista.

It appears to install OK from the original disk, but when I try to start it, I get a box from "Microsoft Windows" stating "Corel Photo House has stopped working"
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
<Button> "Close program"

I've tried the utility provided with Windows to allow running of programs in "compatibility mode" to no avail. I can't swear that I've tried every combination of options in that utility, but have tried all that seem logical to me.

Any suggestions (including a suitable alternative program to purchase if I must) would be appreciated
