My Pictures
Hi.

I am running Windows XP. I have 300+ images in the My Pictures folder, any one know an easy way so i can put these in numerical order, without having to do each one on a manual basis.

Many thanks.

A lot depends on how they are named.
Try having a play with the settings in "Views" in the toolbar

see attachment:

Select "details"

Then you can sort by name, file type, size etc

Once you have it in details view you can also right click on one of the headers and there will be a list of many more headers you can add that might allow you to sort by that attribute if the ones already available don't help.

If none of those do the trick, something like Faststone Batch rename or Irfanview will allow you to manually arrange the photos into the order you want and then you can rename them all at once with an incremental number or lettering scheme and then they can easily be sorted by the name field after that in what would be a de facto numerical order.
