Arrow Solved: Increase screen dpi from camera download
When I download pictures from my Canon Rebel Xti SLR, I notice the screen resolution is 72dpi (using the Windows XP picture download wizard). How can I increase the screen resolution, perhaps to 150 or 200 dpi for each file?

Don't worry about the download dpi...most ...not all ... cameras default to 72 dpi .. a throw back to the older days... which is what most monitors default to...

dpi only comes into play for printing

use any decent image editor to change the dpi settings after the download...

there is much more to it than that but have a look here... read and learn...

yeah, but isnt there an option on XTi to change dpi? coz it's gonna suck if you only gonna keep the pix on the comp, and not physically have them in an album, at least...

If you're only going to keep them on the computer why do you want to increase the dpi...

again... DPI only effects the print output

The only time I worry about DPI (or PPI) .. Is when I'm scanning a photo.
Most all printer routines will print the physical size you want ..
independent of the image's default DPI

It's the total Image pixels that's important .. not the DPI
Changing the default DPI does not change the screen resolution.
