DVD - Converting files & DVDStyler
Hey all

Ok so I found out that you can create your custom menus with DVDStyler. Well, I know how but the format they want it in forces my clips to split into two, which I don't want to do. The file it puts them into are VOB files, which can't be any larger than 1 GB; however, my clips are like 1.3GB...

My process for this is:

I open the AVIs (the clips are in AVI Format) in DVD Flick -- burn it to a VOB file (which makes it 2 different files) -- Now, if I can get the AVI to Mpg (keep it from splitting into two parts and minimum quality loss) that would be great. That way I can just add them that way.

Any pointers?

Also if that's not possible, if I do have 2 VOB files, is there anyway to get DVDStyler to play those two VOB files if they were to select the 'button' for the clip? Like link those two videos together, one to play after the other?

Thanks

Geoff

I think most, if not all DVD building programs render to 1 gig segment limits. This is always transparent during playback of a DVD and I know that one of the programs you were using (DVDFlick) has a setting to either play chapters or video files of any size one after another, or return to the menu screen at the end of the video clip. I don't know what features DVDStyler has since I just use DVDFlick for all my needs.

To join the video clips you would need slightly more sophisticated editing software that can join and render video clips into one file. It doesn't sound like this is requirement for you since you didn't mention the need to edit the content of the video clips.
