Unhappy Solved: installing Kodak easyshare on Vista
I have a new Acer Laptop with Vista on it and I can't complete the install of my kodak easyshare. It gets almost done and says that Kodak has stopped running. It gives me an error or 12x83x0x. I have tried going to the kodak site they suggest to get the download to fix the problem, but that doesn't work either. How can i get this software installed so that i can put my pics on my pc. Thanks for your help.

There's much better software than Easyshare that is completely compatible with your camera, like Picasa and Irfanview, but if you want Easyshare try looking here.

Hope that helps!

Kodak easyshare
thanks for your help ... your reference to the other link helped me get it to install properly. I curious about your comment about using other software instead. Can I plug in my kodak dock and use Picassa? I assumed I HAD to use easyshare. love to hear your thoughts on that.

No, in fact, if you go into My Computer, click on your camera, and go inside the right folder, you can see all the JPEG files right there. All Picasa, Easyshare, and any image managing apps are doing are finding the photos and putting them on your hard drive. Picasa, Irfanview, Easyshare, FastStone Image Viewer -- you name it, it'll probably work with your camera.

Picasa and Irfanview seem to be well liked
(and supported) by the board members.

thanks for the info. you are a great resource. I have another unrelated question. when i boot up my laptop, i get a message that says you are connected to the internet are you sure you want to shut down your antenna. I didn't ask it to shut it down so why does it ask me that? any idea?

No clue, try posting in the XP or Vista forum.
