Adobe CS3 installation problem/CD Drive problem
Hey there, im having trouble installing Adobe CS3 to some computers, and i suspect my CD drive, so i'm not sure if this should have been in hardware.. feel free to move it.

I am a student at a high school, i built two DIY computers, (which i have done several times before) however i accidently screwed up in buying harddrives and didnt buy a SATA one, rather than get a new one, i shared the ribbon from my cd drive with my hard drive (like the hard drive was a slave.. kinda) and it seemed to work fine in both systems. However when we recently purchased CS3.. the discs are not recognized in either system, the drives have power, as the disc is spun, but it will not read them, or pick up that its there, since when i try to "run" it it asks me to enter a disk into drive D. I then tried getting the files off of the installation CD onto my external hard drive to install, but it didn't like that. I might have to get an external CD drive, but how do they connect.. via usb? And if i could fix this problem ASAP that would be great. Please help, any information will be provided.

Are you saying you are trying to install one copy of CS3 on multiple computers... probably not your issue but very illegal...

Is the the Media CD or DVD? Are the drives DVD or CD?

(Ignoring the posibility that your are trying to install software on two machine with one license)

No i'm sorry i was under the impression that it was a multi-install copy. Maybe they dont have those and its a one use only thing.. in that case then i'll only install it on one computer. Any that could very well be the problem, they are DVD's and the drives might not have been dvd drives, as to save money... thank you!
