Photo transfer from pc to razr v3
I use a hp pavilion ze4900 laptop. It uses windows xp operating system. I do not know very much about either computers or cell phones, but i would like to move some photos from "my pictures" to my cell phone, using a usb cable.

I have googled the subject and was not able to follow the instructions given. I need something very simple.

ok i have a moto rokr,,so it should be the same
first of all the pics have to be on the card on the phone as you cant see the pics on internal memory for the phone,,while the cable is in

Plug the cable into the phone and pc
if you get a prompt pick...view folders
if you dont get a prompt then go to my computer and click on the device..
open the folders
the follow this path

motorola
shared
picture.....just copy and paste to here

if you dont have that path then create it by the following
take one of the pics on your phone...choose options....copy...to memory card..now the folder will be there.
as a matter of fact go ahead and do that first.

now while the cable is in your phone you cant access the card with your phone..so dont panic

also before unplugging the cable close all the folders associated with the phone card

then in the task bar on the right {lower right hand of screen?
select the safely remove icon....select the card..it will now tell you safe to remove the hardware

let me know if that path works for your phone

you will use the same method as you have to get to the folder on your phone card.
once that is found then you open the folder where the pictures are on your computer and drag either way

do you have the cable that goes from your phone to the USB port on the phone? may or may not come with the phone...mine did with US Cellular as my carrier.

Plug in that cable, into the phone and computer
Look for a prompt of windows windows asking you want to do.Select View Folders and files.

I f you dont get the prompt, hit stary,my computer, then find your phone,it will toward the bottom of the list and will refer to it as storage.
double click on this then the folders will open on the card.

click on the folders on this order
motorola
shared
picture.

the picture folder is where the pictures will be going.
The phone card now has the correct window we want tot work with.
resize this window by using the edges and corners of the window,we want it to take up the right half of the monitor.

next go to the folder on your computer where the pictures are.
resize that window so it take up the other half of your monitor.

Right click on a picture ...select...copy
now go to the other window for the phone card, right clcik the mouse and select paste.
repeat for each picture you want to put on the phone.

if you know how to highlight multiple pictures at once you dont have to copy and paste each one indiviually.
