Solved: Can't find photos in My Pictures
I have a Panasonic digital camera which I love. I still use my Kodak software though, as it is great software, very easy and I can burn right from it. I upload my photos from my card reader into the Kodak software. Lately, when I go to My Pictures, the albums I've uploaded are not there, though the album and photos are in the Kodak software. I recently wanted to upload photos from Kodak to Snapfish and had to use the card from the camera as My Pictures in Kodak did not show the album in there. How can I get the albums that are not showing in My Pictures in there? Would using a cable instead of the card reader make any difference? Thanks for your help.

try checking in C:\Program Files\Kodak Easy Share Software\originals for all your photos or another folder inside the kokak easy share software folder.

good luck.

If you have XP you will probably find them in Documents and Settings > All Users > Shared Documents > Shared Pictures > Kodak. It is probably something similar in Vista.

You can set EasyShare to download to My Pictures. When you find the pictures on your computer hold the Ctrl key while you select all the folders. If only your Kodak albums are in the main folder you can also Edit > Select All. Right click on one of the highlighted folders and “Copy”. Right click on My Pictures and “Paste”. If you then set EasyShare to download there you will have your pictures where you can find them.

Once you are sure everything transferred OK you can delete the old folders.

Thank you so much for the clear advice slipe! I neglected to say I have XP, sorry.
I did find the folder in Shared Documents, as you said. I copied and pasted to My Pictures. Then I went into my Kodak software and found that the setting for uploading was indeed Shared Documents, which I changed to My Documents in my account. Hopefully that will solve the problem. I deleted the folder from the Shared Docs folder as well. Thanks again for solving the mystery!

I use a straight Windows download and don’t have EasyShare on my computer or would have given better instructions for changing the destination folder. It appears you did that quite easily without help.

Friends have a Kodak camera with a dock. EasyShare is so easy for them with the dock that they don’t want to change. They just push a button on the dock and EasyShare makes a folder with the date and puts the photos in it. I had to track down their folders and set it up the way yours is now, and happened to remember where Kodak hid them. Glad I could help.

I used to use the dock when I used my Kodak camera. As I said, I now have a great Panasonic camera, but Kodak's software is superior to theirs and to Canon's as well, which I have at work. I keep updating the Kodak software. I just love it. When I put in my card, Kodak's software opens, but the destination was the problem. Everything is easy once you know how to do it. Thanks again.
