XP Doesn't Recognize Kodak SD Memory Card
I have a Nikon D40 camera I borrowed and I took some pictures with it on a new Kodak 4GB SD memory card. I formatted the card in the camera before I took the pictures. When I put the card in my reader on my printer my computer with XP doesn't recognize it. I even tried to format it from the computer but nothing happens except getting an hourglass and then hanging the computer for about a minute. I tried a second SD card with the same result. The reader will read a CF card with no problem so I know it's not the reader. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Your printer's card reader probably cannot read a 4GB SD card. I have an old Epson R300 that does the same thing. Reads an 8M SD card. Does nothing with a 2GB card. Chokes on a 2G CF card too.

Interesting. My printer is an Epson Stylus CX6600. I will have to try another reader somewhere and see what happens!

The new Kodak card is probably a SDHC card, older readers will not these.
